Hal Watanabe
Being free from technical rules and commonplace theories of art is critical to Mr. Watanabe's creative process. A street scene with architecture is purposely delineated "out of perspective" and his geometric shapes are drawn organically, freehand. He finishes his works digitally, employing the computer as an essential tool in the same way that a painter uses pencils, brushes, and pallets. Mr. Watanabe gives his worlds individuality with a rhythm of colors and textures, and a harmony in composition.
