Yoshimi Ohtani
Yoshimi Ohtani was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1980.
She established a website for her hobby illustrations in 2000.
She gave birth in 2002, and concentrated on caring for her child for while.
In 2005, a great desire for creation came over her, and so she returned to her original passion,
this time establishing a new style for her work using illustrator.
After that, she worked on cell-phone icons and bachgrounds, books, magazines, interior decorations, and so on in the professional sense.
Spring of 2008, she start asking herself "what do I want to create?"
At first, she made a new website domain name that means "fun" plus "arium"... "Funarium", and
started doing of exhibitions.
For her createions, she combined a traditional mindset(lki) with a sense of modern Japanesque"passive demenor(Wabi)", "elegant simplicity(Sabi)", and/or a "classic taste(Kare)".
The character of her works are a hybrid of Japanimation/comics and design/artistic expression.
