Reichel Miyao

"My characters have a universal appeal and an intriguing power that energizes the audience's spirits," says Ms. Miyao. While running her design firm in Tokyo, she has created many characters for major corporations over the decades and is acclaimed as one of the leading artists in Japan. Her new character-based work, The Sushis!., was created with animation in mind. Each Sushi character has a bold presence and "personality" to attract the attention of a wide audience, especially young children and adolescents.
