Mihoko Inazawa
"To work happily I need to keep myself in a neutral state... then I can create true images. When I work on a project, it is the yohaku(the blank space) that I am vividly aware of. Maand kuki(the space and air between things) are universal in compositions and I think everyone can perceive this." With fluid forms made from rich brush strokes, Ms. Inazawa's illustrations possess a distinguished grace. Her works have appeared in character designs, calendars, and picture books, and they all have a special warmth that reaches out to audiences. Ms. Inazawa also enjoys her gift and established reputation in calligraphy.
